Smoke n’ Lines is a series of woodcut prints that uses analogical thinking as a method of extracting elements of the Yukon and its summer forest fires. Here, I have abstracted the organic lines of the billowing smoke from the immensely large fires to create an image and textiles for upholstery. Abstracting the lines allowed for the design to be less literal while also still rooting the design in a sense of place.
